What we work on

and, as importantly, what we DON’t.

it is our goal to be the best at what we do.

In order to do that, we stick to what we know. This gives our customers confidence in our experience, skills, and recommendations. read on to learn more about what we work on!

Cummins

  • 5.9L

The 5.9L Cummins was employed by Dodge in their Ram pickups from 1989 until 2008. The base engine design did not change, but the overall performance of the engine evolved throughout the years.

    Common repairs include:

    • Gear case re-seal

    • Fuel injector replacement

    • Water pump

    • Cylinder head gasket replacement

We offer full services on all 5.9L Cummins engines.

  • 6.7L

In 2008, Cummins introduced the 6.7L engine to comply with emissions regulations. The “tried and true” inline six design was preserved, but now with more displacement, a new fuel system, and a new VGT turbocharger design. This base engine platform is still used in new trucks to this day, although the 19+ Ram’s have the optional High Output engine which has some fundamental differences.

    Common repairs include:

    • Turbocharger replacement

    • Fuel injector replacement

    • Emission system failures

    • Transmission replacement

We offer full services on all 6.7L Cummins engines.

Powerstroke

  • 7.3L

The 7.3L diesel engine was introduced in Ford pickups in 1989 through 1993, with the first iteration being an Indirect Injection (IDI). We no longer offer service on IDI trucks.

However, in 1994, Ford upgraded the 7.3L with direct injection and a turbocharger, with the first iteration of the Powerstroke. These engines are notoriously reliable, but underpowered compared to new standards. Nevertheless, they are a popular choice due to their reliability and lower initial investment.

    Common repairs include:

    • Oil cooler re-seal/replacement

    • Water pump

    • Fuel Injectors

    • Glow plugs/wire harnesses

We offer full services on all 7.3L Powerstroke engines.

  • 6.0L

In late 2003, Ford introduced the 6.0L Powerstroke which featured a new high pressure oil system, a variable geometry turbocharger, and an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. These trucks were incredibly popular, but were plagued with problems with virtually all of the new systems that were introduced. They continue to be a popular choice for those looking to get a diesel pickup for the first time, due to their low prices and prolific availability.

    Common repairs include:

    • EGR & Oil cooler replacement

    • Cylinder head gaskets (with upgraded head studs)

    • High Pressure Oil pump and related components

    • Fuel injector replacement

We offer full services on all 6.0L Powerstroke engines.

  • 6.4L

From 2008-2010, Ford trucks rolled off the lot with the 6.4L Powerstroke produced by International. While we could go into extensive detail about our experience with these trucks, we will simply say that the 6.4L engine is THE most failure-prone engine that we have ever seen. When they run good, they run great…but when they go down, they go down hard. The good news is, there is no problem with this engine that we haven’t seen, and we are well-versed in diagnostics and repairs to get you back on the road quickly.

    Common repairs include:

    • Full engine replacement

    • Fuel injection pump failure

    • EGR valve replacement

    • Turbocharger failure

We offer full services on 6.4L Powerstroke engines.

  • 6.7L

The 6.7L Powerstroke was the first Ford-built diesel engine in their full-size trucks since the 6.9L was adopted from International Harvester in 1981. The 6.7L Powerstroke is an excellent engine, and has raised the bar in the light duty diesel pickup industry in terms of power output. Ford continues to lead the pack in factory HP and torque ratings, although they also lead the pack in purchase price.

    Common repairs include:

    • Serpentine belt

    • Crank Case Vent (CCV) filter

    • Oil pan re-seal

    • Turbocharger replacement

We offer full services on 6.7L Powerstroke engines.

Duramax

  • 6.6L

The 6.6L Duramax engine was introduced in GM pickups in 2001, in it’s first iteration- the LB7 engine. Since then, we have seen the LLY, LBZ, LMM, LML, and now the L5P. These engines are all built on the same basic block design, but have significant differences pretty much everywhere else.

    Common repairs include:

    • Fuel injectors

    • Water pump

    • Turbocharger replacement

    • Glow plugs

    • Emissions system failures (LML and newer)

We offer full services on all 6.6L Duramax engines.

Sprinter/Ecodiesel

  • The Sprinter van is a popular choice for service vans, as well as small motorhomes. The same engines used in these are also used in EcoDiesel pickups from Ram. These engines employ completely different systems than the full size diesel engine options, and are European in nature. However, because they are so popular in our area, we do offer limited service on these vehicles.

    Available services include:

    • Fluid Services

    • Brakes

    • Chassis/suspension repairs

    • Diagnostics

    • Engine repairs

We do not offer performance upgrades for Ecodiesel/Sprinters.

WE DO NOT WORK ON…

  • 6.9L Ford diesel pickups

  • 7.3L IDI Ford diesel pickups

  • 6.5L Chevrolet diesel pickups

  • Jeep Liberty with diesel engine

  • ANY European diesel engine

  • Industrial, agricultural, or marine application diesel engines or equipment
